Preview

Gulf Giants (GUL) will lock horns with MI Emirates (EMI) in the 26th match of the International League T20 2024 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on February 8. Gulf Giants have won four of their eight games and occupy the third place, while MI Emirates have been dominating the proceedings, winning six of their eight games and topping the charts.

MI Emirates had played against Desert Vipers in their last encounter, where Desert Vipers won the toss and elected to field. They had a decent start but quickly picked up pace and were cruising up ahead to a good total. Kusal Perera, Ambati Rayudu and Nicholas Pooran made significant contributions to the team as they amassed 188 runs. Vipers, in return, had a horrible start, and they just kept on getting worse from there. It was the brilliant eighth wicket partnership for 73, which saved the face for them and took them a good total as they lost the game by 30 runs.

Gulf Giants had played against Dubai Capitals in their last encounter, where Dubai Capitals won the toss and elected to field. Giants did not start well on a slow track as they lost several wickets early and were tottering at 17 for four. It was a significant partnership for the fifth wicket, which did the job for them as they crawled to a decent total of 126 runs. Capitals made a decent start but they missed a trick by losing wickets at regular intervals. Dasun Shanaka did play a handy knock but did not receive much support from the other end, as they lost the game by just 19 runs.
