India will take on England in the first Test match of the five-match series on Thursday (January 25) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. England have already announced the playing 11 for this match. James Anderson has not been picked and Tom Hartley has been handed a debut.

India last played a two-match Test series against South Africa which ended on 1-1. India defeated South Africa by seven wickets in the second Test match by seven wickets after the Proteas were bundled out for just 55 runs in the first innings.
