Preview

India will be up against Sri Lanka in the 4th match of the Super Four round of the Asia Cup 2023 at the R Premdasa Stadium in Colombo on September 12. Both teams won their opening game of the Super Four stage and are placed in the first and second position in the points table, respectively.

India had squared off against Pakistan in their last match, where Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl. Being put to bat, India started brilliantly, with both their openers looking fabulous. They lost both their openers in quick succession, which pushed them back, but Virat and Rahul joined hands to put up a historic partnership. They posted a mammoth total of 356 in reply, of which Pakistan crumbled totally. They were bowled out for a mere total of 128 runs and lost the match by 228 runs.

Sri Lanka had played against Bangladesh in their last match, where Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bowl. Sri Lanka started well, and their top order seemed to be in great form, scoring the bulk of the runs. They kept losing wickets towards the end and did not finish well with a total of 257 runs at the loss of nine wickets. Bangladesh started the chase very well, but then they lost a bunch of wickets in quick succession. Towhid Hridoy played a good knock of 82 runs in the middle but still could not save the match by losing it by 21 runs.
