Lucknow Super Giants will face Gujarat Titans in the 30th game of the Indian Premier League 2023 on Saturday (April 22) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Both teams made their debut last season and faced each other twice. The Titans defeated the Super Giants in both of these games.

This season, the Super Giants have won four out of six games and are placed in the second position in the points table. They defeated the Rajasthan Royals in their previous outing by 10 runs. The Super Giants made 154 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs while batting first. Kyle Mayers shined with the bat again for the Super Giants as he scored his third half-century of the season. Avesh Khan picked three wickets for 25 runs in four overs, while Marcus Stoinis took two for 28 runs. The Royals managed just 144 runs and fell short of the target by 10 runs. It was the Super Gitants’ first win over the Royals in IPL.

The Titans have won three out of five games this season and are placed in the fourth position in the points table. In their previous game, they also faced the Royals but failed to cross the winning line. The Titans scored 177 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs while batting first on the back of a solid batting performance from the middle order. The Royals scored only 26 runs in the powerplay, their lowest this season so far. Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer stabilised the innings with their respective half-centuries. Hetmyer scored 56 runs off 26 deliveries and won the Player of the Match award.
