They added good partnerships for the first and second wickets. However, they could not increase their scoring rate towards the end, and as a result, they could only score 153 runs. This still proved to be a little too much for Mizroam as they started well but lost their way out later in the middle overs. They lost the match by a small margin of seven runs.

Mumbai had played off against Hyderabad in their last encounter, where Mumbai won the toss and elected to field. Being put to bat, Hyderabad had a good start owing to the in-form Tanmay Agarwal, who notched up his half-century. With good contributions from other middle-order batters as well, they posted a total of 155 runs on the board. Mumbai started their chase all guns blazing, having scored 62 runs already in six overs, but as soon as they lost their skipper, they could not hold the innings together. They eventually lost the match by 23 runs as they just kept losing wickets one after the other.
