Preview

Nottinghamshire will lock horns with Durham in the 61st match of the Vitality Blast 2023 at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham on June 8. Nottinghamshire have won four matches from their seven and are placed in the fifth position in the rankings of the North Group. Durham, on the other hand, have won four of their six matches and are in the third position in the North Group.

Nottinghamshire had played against Lancashire in their last encounter, where Lancashire won the toss and elected to bat. They had a quick start, scoring 33 runs for the first wicket within 3.2 overs. Then they started losing wickets, and the scoring rate slowed down a little. Eventually, the scoring rate fell significantly, and the fall of wickets got much more regular. They could only score 145 runs before being bowled out in the 19th over. Nottinghamshire had a brilliant start to the chase, scoring 58 runs within 5.3 overs for the first wicket. Although they lost a couple of wickets, they did not stop and chased down the score in the 19th over. Nottinghamshire won the match by five wickets.

Durham had squared off against Northamptonshire in their last match, where Durham won the toss and elected to field. Northamptonshire were off to a good start with a decent scoring rate. Their first wicket partnership lasted for 61 runs. But they slowed down further after that, and middle overs saw almost no boundaries being scored. A little finish towards the end led them to a total score of 161 runs at the expense of seven wickets. Durham were ruthless in their chase, though. They did lose six wickets in the process but did not compromise much after a brilliant start from their top order. Durham won the match pretty comfortably by the end with a margin of four wickets.
