South Africa will take on Australia in the second semi-final of the ODI World Cup 2023 on Thursday (November 16) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. South Africa finished in second place in the points table with seven wins in nine games and a Net Run Rate of +1.261. Australia also won seven out of nine matches but finished in fourth place due to a lesser Net Run Rate.

The last time both these teams faced each other in this tournament, South Africa won by a significant margin of 134 runs after posting a total of 311 runs on the board. Quinton de Kock scored a century for the Proteas, while Aiden Markram contributed 56 runs off 44 deliveries. Kagiso Rabada took three wickets for 33 runs in eight overs. Only Marnus Labuschagne managed to score more than 30 runs for Australia in that game.
