Preview

South Africa will be up against Sri Lanka in the 4th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on October 7. Both these teams have been in decent form, winning three of their last five matches. This is going to be a good encounter between both sides.

South Africa squared off against New Zealand in their last match, where New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat. After a decent opening stand, New Zealand had a string of fantastic partnerships, with almost their entire batting line-up contributing significantly. They posted a strong total of 321 runs on the board, in reply to which South Africa lost a wicket early but came back well. However, the match could not be continued and was affected by rain, due to which it had to be stopped, and New Zealand won the match by seven runs.

Sri Lanka played against Afghanistan in their last match, which was a warm-up game for the World Cup, where Afghanistan won the toss and elected to field. Sri Lanka started decently but had back-to-back great partnerships to get back on track. Kusal Mendis played a phenomenal knock of 158, due to which they made a total of 294. The match was interrupted by rain, and the revised target was 261, which was easily chased down by Afghanistan as they won the match by six wickets due to a jaw-dropping partnership between Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Rahmat Shah.
