Preview

South Africa will face West Indies in the second T20I game of the ongoing three-game series on Sunday (March 26) at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. On this tour, the West Indies have been a formidable opponent for the Proteas. The ODI series ended in a draw after the first game was canceled due to rain, West Indies won the second, and South Africa managed to make it even in the third match. West Indies continued the momentum in the T20I series under the new leadership of Rovman Powell. The first game was shortened to 11 overs per side due to rain. West Indies won the toss and elected to bowl. The Proteas didn’t have a good start, as Quinton de Kock was dismissed on the first ball of the game. The remaining batters managed to up the ante with their strategic batting. South Africa kept losing wickets, but runs kept coming from the other end. They ended up with 131 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 11 overs, with David Miller scoring 48 runs off 22 deliveries.

West Indies also lost one wicket in the first over, but the openers collected 17 runs. They batted with the same template throughout the innings. By the end of the fifth over, West Indies had lost three wickets and had posted more than half of the target on the board. Sisanda Magala picked up three wickets for 21 runs in two overs, but Powell overshadowed his bowling efforts. Powell remained not out on 43 runs off 18 deliveries and helped the West Indies chase the challenging target in 10.3 overs.
