Preview

South Africa Women’s Under 19 team will lock horns with Scotland Women’s Under 19 in the 11th match of the ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup at Willowmoore Park in Benoni on January 16. Both teams are placed in Group D in the fixtures, and the teams have not started the tournament as they would have liked it to. South Africa and Scotland lost their opening matches to India and the United Arab Emirates, respectively. South Africa won the toss in their last game and elected to bat. They made a healthy total of 166 with the fall of five wickets, including a brilliant half-century from Simone Lourens. But India returned to bat with all guns blazing and chased down the target with 21 balls to spare. Shweta Sehrawat took India over the line on her own, owing a fantastic not-out knock of 92 runs. On the other hand, Scotland lost the toss and were put in to bat first. They could muster just 99 runs at the loss of nine wickets from their quota of 20 overs. Only three of their batters could make it to double digits score. UAE, however, chased down the target easily in 16.2 overs at the expense of four wickets. Mahika Gaur scored 33 and won the match for UAE. Both the teams are looking eager now to get started with their winning tally.
