Preview

St Kitts & Nevis Patriots will lock horns with Guyana Amazon Warriors in the 8th match of the Caribbean Premier League 2023 at Warner Park in Basseterre on August 25. St Kitts & Nevis Patriots have played just one game so far, which they lost, and are third in the table. Guyana Amazon Warriors, on the other hand, played one game that could not be completed and are fourth in the rankings.

St Kitts & Nevis Patriots had played against Jamaica Tallawahs in their last match, where Jamaica Tallawahs had won the toss and elected to bowl. With an aggressive approach, the Patriots looked good at the start but lost a couple of wickets to pull things back. Owing to some good finishes towards the end, they managed to post 159 runs on the board. In reply, Tallawahs started in a fantastic manner and continued their brilliance even after losing their first wicket. They won the match emphatically by eight wickets with more than three overs to spare.

Guyana Amazon Warriors had played against Saint Lucia Kings in their last match, where Saint Lucia Kings had won the toss and elected to bowl. The Warriors started slow and had scored only 14 runs from 2.3 overs when they lost their first wicket. The second wicket partnership was much better, where Azam Khan scored 21 runs off just 11 balls, pushing the team’s total to 56 runs for the loss of two wickets after five overs. The match was then interrupted by rain and could not be resumed after that.
