Adelaide Strikers will take on Sydney Sixers in the second game of the Big Bash League 2022 on Wednesday (December 14) at the Adelaide Oval. Both teams had a great outing during the last season. Strikers won six out of 14 matches and finished in the fourth position in the points table. Sixers won nine out of 14 and were in the second position in the points table. Sixers won the challenger game last season against Strikers by four wickets. Sixers lost the final against Perth Scorchers by 79 runs after they were bundled out for just 92 runs while chasing the target of 172 runs.
Strikers will be captained by Peter Siddle this season, and Moises Henriques will be at the helm for the Sixers. Strikers have signed Chris Lynn, the leading run-scorer in the tournament this season. Along with him, Kiwi all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme and English batter Adam Jose were also drafted into the side. Australian all-rounder Ben Manenti and bowler Cameron Boyce have also made it to the squad. Travis Head and Alex Carey will be back in the team after Australia's Test series against South Africa completes. Jordan Buckingham has been signed as the replacement player. The Sixers signed Steven Smith for this season, and he will join the squad after the Test series. They picked Chris Jordan, James Vince, and Izharulhaq Naveed in the draft.
