Preview

Vidarbha will lock horns with Karnataka in the 3rd Quarterfinal match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023 at the Sanosara Cricket Ground A in Rajkot on December 11. Vidarbhar topped Group B with five wins from seven matches in the league stage while Karnataka won six of their seven matches and finished second in the the points table of Group C after the end of the league stage.

Vidarbha squared off against Services in their last match where Vidarbha won the toss and elected to field. Batting for Services, Shubham Rohilla played a sensational knock as he smashed 109 runs. He was aided well by Vikas Hathwala who played an aggressive role and took the team to a good total of 282 runs. Vidarbha started their chase in a much better and looked to be in a great place by the midway. However, their middle order faltered when they needed to take responsibility as they kept losing wickets and so ended up losing the match by 15 runs.
Karnataka had played against Mizoram in their last encounter where Mizoram won the toss and elected to bat. The decision proved to be an abysmal one as it was a match they would like to forget and move on ahead as quickly as possible. They just kept losing wickets without forming any significant partnerships and soon were bowled out for just 124. Karnataka, in reply, was ruthless right from the start even though they lost a couple of wickets early. Just one good partnership and it meant an easy win for Karnataka by six wickets with around 33 overs to still go.
