Preview

Warwickshire will lock horns with Worcestershire in the 107th match of the Vitality Blast 2023 at the Edgbaston in Birmingham on June 23. Warwickshire have won eight of their 11 matches and are at the top of the table in the North Group. Worcestershire, on the other hand, have won seven matches from 11 that they have played and are second in the rankings of the North Group.

Warwickshire had squared off against Yorkshire in their last match, where Warwickshire won the toss and elected to bat. On a good batting track, the batters looked good and were scoring at an excellent rate. The bulk of the runs were scored by players top of the order, and the team could not finish the innings like they would have expected but still reached the score of 180 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Yorkshire started off decently and maintained the required run rate but kept losing wickets regularly, which hurt them at the end. The match went to the very last ball of the innings, where Warwickshire managed to clutch the match and win it by four runs.

Worcestershire had squared off against Nottinghamshire in their last match, where Worcestershire won the toss and elected to field. Nottinghamshire did not start as they had hoped, losing two wickets for the score of eight runs. Their middle order came to their rescue on a slow pitch and helped them reach a decent total of 139 runs at the expense of eight wickets. Worcestershire started decently in their chase and maintained the scoring rate, which helped them toward the end. They lost a few wickets in the process, but the total was not too big, so they chased down the total with nine balls to spare and won the match by five wickets.
