Preview

India will be up against West Indies in the first ODI match of the India Tour of West Indies at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on July 27. India have been in decent form in the recent matches they have played in this format where they have won three out of five. West Indies, on the other hand, might be in some trouble with just one win in their last five games.

India squared off against Australia in their last game, where Australia had won the toss and elected to bat. Australia started their innings brilliantly and was going ahead aggressively. There were no individual high scores from any players, but the whole team contributed and posted a good total of 269 runs on the board. India was proactive in their reply to the chase and were cruising ahead forward but kept losing wickets regularly as well. By the end, they lacked some good batters who would finish the game and were bundled out for 248. Australia won the match by 21 runs.

West Indies had played against Sri Lanka in their last encounter where the toss was won by Sri Lanka and they elected to field. West Indies had a decent start but lost a few wickets in a flurry. A few significant partnerships from the middle order brought them back on track, with Keacy Carty scoring the highest, 87 for them. West Indies managed to give Sri Lanka a decent target of 244. In the chase, Sri Lanka was phenomenal from the word get-go as they had an opening stand of 190 runs, and the chase was a mere formality then. Sri Lanka won the match by eight wickets with more than five overs to spare.
