Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah is gearing up for the upcoming Test series against New Zealand. After going wicketless in the ODI series, the pacer looked in good touch in practice game picking up two wickets in his 11 overs and went for just 18 runs. He picked the wickets of Will Young and Finn Allen even as New Zealand XI got bowled out for 235 runs in response to India’s 263 in the first innings.

Hanuma Vihari was the star for the visitors in their first essay. He scored 101 runs before getting retired not-out while Cheteshwar Pujara also batted well mustering 93 runs off 211 deliveries. Unfortunately, apart from the duo, none of the other batsmen could spend time in the middle. However, the likes of Mayank Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw are looking to make amends in the second innings.

At the end of Day 2, India were 59/0 after just seven overs as the duo is looking good to make it big this time around. Virat Kohli is also expected to bat to get into the groove ahead of the crucial series.
