Amid the severe situation of coronavirus pandemic spreading its wrath around the globe, the world is under lockdown where people are spending their time in isolation. Talking about India, amid the 21-day lockdown in the country, the confirmed cases have crossed 4000 and more than 150 deaths have been registered so far across the nation. All the citizens are currently been advised to stay indoors and enjoy their quarantine period.

In the outbreak of the pandemic, health workers and policemen are trying their best to maintain a positive environment in the society. To show appreciate their relentless work, PM Narendra Modi had recently appealed everyone to perform the ‘lights-off’ activity and ignite candles in their respective balconies on April 5.

Many Indian cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina and Rohit Sharma have come forward and contributed their bit to tackle the pandemic. They have also heaped praise of health workers and policemen who are working relentlessly in such trying times.

Hardik Pandya is an integral part of Mumbai Indians

The official Twitter account of Mumbai Police shared a heartwarming video on Thursday where they asked the police– “What would you do if you could be home for 21 days?”

Many cops replied that they would prefer to spend time with their families, watch movies, read books and just relax in their quarantine period. The video won many hearts as Twitter was filled with appreciation for the video in no time. Indian international and Mumbai Indians all-rounder Hardik Pandya also showered love on Mumbai Police and appreciated their efforts in the lockdown period.

“Lots of love and wishes to @MumbaiPolice and all the other officials around the country serving to protect us,” wrote Pandya through his Twitter account.

The prolific all-rounder from Baroda has been sidelined from international cricket for quite a while now due to a back injury. The right-hander was set to make his comeback into the national side in the ODI series against South Africa. However, the first match of the series at Dharmashala got called off due to rain. Furthermore, the subsequent two ODI games were also cancelled in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

Pandya will be vying to make his presence felt in the thirteenth edition of Indian Premier League. The Mumbai Indians player is an integral part of the Rohit Sharma-led side franchise. However, the much-awaited IPL 2020 has landed into hot waters due to the current situation across the globe. The tournament was postponed from March 29 to April 15 but considering the stern situation at the moment, the cash-rich league is on the verge of cancellation.
