Manish Pandey delighted after scoring a century; Tom Moody congratulates him

Manish Pandey had an exceptional 2018 in the limited-overs format as he piled on the runs for India A and has continued in the same vein in the first-class cricket as well. He slammed a century in the second innings for his state team Karnataka and is set to embrace the longer format as well.

In the game against Chhattisgarh, Manish scored 40 in the first innings and must’ve felt that he missed out on a chance to make it count. However, the talented batsman made amends in the second chance and played a fluent and aggressive knock of 102 runs and remained unbeaten as the team declared at 219/7.

Chhattisgarh couldn’t handle the heat in the second innings and were skittled for 156 runs as Karnataka won the game by a massive 198 runs. After the victory, the delighted Manish Pandey rejoiced his century at the start of the 2019 and hoped to bat the same way in the near future.

Moody’s kind words

Tom Moody, his IPL coach at the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), was quick to respond to Pandey’s tweet and praised him for his brilliant knock. Manish was snaffled by the franchise for a whopping amount last year in the auction but he failed to live up to the price tag. Despite that, Moody always ranked the cricketer highly and have retained him for the upcoming season as well.

“Well played Manish,” read Moody’s response as the overwhelmed Manish also thanked his coach for all the praise. He will hope that he doesn’t let Moody down in the IPL this time around and it will be interesting to see if he converts the domestic form during the T20 tournament.

Moreover, he would also love to make a comeback to the Indian team as he has been left out from the ODI squad for the series against Australia and New Zealand.
