In the recent turn of events, reports emerged out about Australian coach Justin Langer, that his style of coaching is too aggressive and not liked by most of the players. His discipline attitude is not something that every player can keep up with all the time. An incident also emerged where he asked a player to not snack on a toasted sandwich during the break, and it created a lot of stir in the squad.

However, Langer also came up with his side of explanation and added that he is not here to please everyone. However, a player who was asked by Langer not to eat toastie was none other than Marnus Labuschagne. Now, Labuschagne has opened on his side and explained that he has no problem with Langer and he loves him.

“I’m the grumpiest p**ck in the world because I told Marnus Labuschagne not to take a toasted ham and cheese sandwich (to the dugout) after his 40-minute lunch break,” said Langer earlier on the Cricket Et Cetera podcast.

Langer’s demeanour unified the Australian team after they were trapped in the sandpaper gate incident in South Africa 2018. He stayed with them during the most crucial hours but the latest reports that surfaced portrayed his wrong picture. However, after Labuschagne’s statements, things seem alright again.

Labuschagne defends coach Justin Langer

“I love JL, and I love what he brings to the team.

“There’s always more pressure when you’re not winning games. We’ve got to make sure that we’re really focused when we come back as a squad and make sure we stay really close to each other as a group and as a coaching staff. We need to keep supporting each other and backing each other,” said Labuschagne after the loss of Brisbane Heats during the season end of Big Bash League.

He also stated that Australia was looking up for the tour of South Africa but safety concerns should be taken on priority and COVID-19 situations really look disturbing in Proteas nation. In that case, he believes that England has a great benefit as they are getting their schedules matches properly.
