Suresh Raina hasn’t had the best of times of late in his cricket career. The southpaw is yet to take the field after the final of the 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) back in May. To add to his agony, he was also suffering from a knee injury for quite some time. Back in August, he underwent a knee surgery in Amsterdam and said that it was a tough call to take form him.

In the first week of August, it was learned that he’ll be missing the first part of the Indian domestic season and needs four to six weeks of rest. Raina hasn’t donned the national colours for more than a year and it’s unlikely that he’ll make a comeback any soon. In August itself, he returned to the gym and started training hard. After his operation, wishes poured in for the experienced cricketer.

Recently, he posted a picture where he was inside a gym. Raina also had his daughter Gracia along with her. He uploaded a picture along with his little kid. The 32-year-old captioned the picture and wrote, “(love emoji) my gym partner,”

In the meantime, Shoaib Malik was impressed by Raina’s post with Gracia. The veteran replied to Suresh Raina’s post and wrote, “MashAllah! (love emoji),”

Malik’s impressive run in the CPL

Even as Raina is straining hard to make a comeback, Malik is having a dream run. The veteran is currently plying his trade for the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the seventh edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). The Warriors are unbeaten in the tournament and are at the top of the points table. Their last victory came versus the Trinbago Knight Riders at the Queen’s Park Oval.

Even if Malik’s men lose their last two games, they will end atop the table. Their remaining contests are against the Jamaica Tallawahs and Knight Riders at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. As far as Malik is concerned, he has been on top of his game. In eight matches, the Pakistan all-rounder notched 180 runs at an average of 60 with a top score of 67* versus Tallawahs at the Sabina Park.
