This CrickingDuels Fantasy guide is for the match 37 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season which will be played between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The game will be played at the iconic Wankhede Stadium as the hosts would look to continue the winning momentum which they gained in Indore by defeating Punjab. However, it won’t be easy for them as KKR are also coming off a couple of consecutive wins behind them and would he high confidence.
The pitch at the Wankhede has been on the slower side surprisingly with Sunrisers defending the total of 118 easily. Mumbai will have to make sure that they don’t give away the home advantage and make sure they win every game from here on. A loss can end their season effectively and they won’t be able to defend their title. Dinesh Karthik has been excellent with his captaincy and would be hoping that they continue to win. Here we bring to you the CrickingDuels Fantasy guide for the game:
Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata Knight Riders
Batsmen
As far as the Mumbai batsmen are concerned, the ever consistent Suryakumar Yadav has to be in any fantasy team and then I would go for Rohit Sharma despite him batting lower down the order. The way he tonked the ball in Indore after coming in to bat, he will give me points even if he faces 15-20 balls. Now for the visitors, I would suggest going with Chris Lynn and Robin Uthappa who can win the game for their side from any position.
U19 boys have set the stage on fire these days then why not pick Shubman Gill? Yes, I will go with this youngster for this game as he will also bat at number 4 and is fresh off a good outing. You can also go for Nitish Rana but no one is sure if he is fit from his back spasm.
All-Rounders
As I have said before, Krunal Pandya is my favourite and he proved his worth again by playing a match-winning knock for Mumbai and saved them from getting eliminated. He will also be used with the ball at the Wankhede Stadium and he will reap rewards again. Andre Russell is my other all-rounder in the team simply because of the impact his innings makes on the match. He has not fired in the last few matches and it might be his day on a super Sunday.
Wicketkeeper
Ishan Kishan is my wicketkeeper here who bats at number 3 and will get more balls to play in the innings. His failures might tempt you to go Dinesh Karthik but he bats at number 6 now and only a collapse of the KKR top order can fetch more points from him. But I have got it covered above by picking Shubman Gill in my team and he will cover up the points if Lynn and Narine lose their wickets early.
Bowlers
Jasprit Bumrah becomes the automatic pick in my team as he is regaining his best form again. He can pick wickets at any stage and should be a good option to go with. Sunil Narine is a no-brainer as he opens the innings and then goes on to bowl economical four overs with a couple of wickets. Interestingly, he is a good choice for a captain of your fantasy side as well. Piyush Chawla is a surprise and first-time pick by me. He has been opening the bowling for KKR these days and though it is a risk to pick him, he might reap rich rewards as well.
Even Kuldeep Yadav is a decent and safe option to go with as he bowls in the middle overs and it is hard for the batsmen to pick him as well.
