Australia and South Africa are all set to play the opening game of the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup 2021 on October 23 in Abu Dhabi. Australia has been struggling a lot in the current times in the given format and it will be high time for them to level up their records. Ahead of the much-awaited clash, former Australian cricketer and commentator Michael Hussey has come with his playing XI against SA.
Hussey chose David Warner and Aaron Finch as his designated openers who will be followed by Steve Smith and in-form Glenn Maxwell. The surprising omission from Hussey’s list was of star all-rounder Marcus Stoinis. Matthew Wade and Mitch Marsh occupied the next slots in his XI. Wade will be wicketkeeper in this list while Finch will lead the side.
Ashton Agar and Pat Cummins follow next in the line of Hussey’s XI and the last three positions were filled by Mitchell Starc, Kane Richardson, and Adam Zampa.

Australia are suffering from their T20I form and it remains to be seen how they will step up in the high-profile tournament. There are also issues with a lot of players in the teams with their current form. Star batter Warner is going through a lean patch and it is yet to be seen when he gets back his usual touch.
On the other hand, skipper Finch is coming back to professional cricket after a long gap as he was recovering from his injuries. Even Cummins will be seen in the cricketing circuit after a gap of five months almost. Their first game is against South Africa who will be high on confidence owing to their latest bilateral wins.
In fact, Australia even lost to India in their warm-up games and Warner was seeing struggling there as well. It remains a huge concern for them as of now.
