Hussey took the challenge thrown by Faf du Plessis and picked his best IPL moments in a video posted by CSK. As per him, Faf du Plessis knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018 qualifier-1 that helped the team in progressing into the final that ended up winning against the same opponent.

The 44-year-old said that in Wankhede the team was struggling against SRH. And, Rashid Khan was bowling at his best. However, Faf du Plessis played a match-winning knock of 67 runs off 42 balls. The chances were quite slim of CSK winning. But, all credit goes to the former South African skipper, who scored the winning runs for the team according to Hussey.

“We were in trouble at the Wankhede Stadium, Rashid Khan was bowling very well. Faf (du Plessis) opened the batting and hung in there. We weren’t sure how we were going to win the match but he hit the winning runs against Bhuvneshwar Kumar and got us into that final and more importantly where went on to win that final,” Michael Hussey said in the video clip posted by CSK.

He picked Dhoni’s brilliant inning against KXIP in 2010 was another moment in Hussey’s list. Mr Cricket said that CSK was on the fifth position before that game and they desperately needed a win to get into the top four teams. The situation was quite stiff for Chennai as they needed 12 runs in two balls off Irfan Pathan in the final over of the match. At that time, MS Dhoni, who was out in the middle smacked two maximums in a row that helped CSK in winning another crucial match.

“In Dharamsala, coming into the game we were in the fifth position, outside the top four. We had to win, the game was tight, it came right down the wire. MSD was out in the middle, Irfan Pathan was bowling for KXIP. We needed 12 to win off the last two balls and of course, captain cool hit two sixes in a row. Again were good enough to go and win the final against Mumbai Indians,” said Hussey.

Last but not the least, he also picked Lakshmipathy Balaji’s hat-trick in the inaugural season of IPL back in 2008 against Kings XI Punjab.
