It’s Chennai Super Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders in the high-voltage final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021! The encounter takes place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Friday (October 15). Both teams have been sensational this season and it would be interesting to see how the summit clash pans out. With IPL being one of the most celebrated T20 competitions worldwide, predictions about winners are coming in from different parts.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan is the latest one to join the bandwagon. Taking of Twitter, Vaughan highlighted the fact that most of his predictions in IPL 2021 have been accurate. He then backed MS Dhoni’s CSK to defeat KKR and lift the IPL title for the fourth time. Moreover, he also predicted all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will be named the Player of the Match.

Ravindra Jadeja will receive the Player of the Match award in IPL 2021 final: Michael Vaughan

“As all my predictions this year have been spot on .. I think @ChennaiIPL will win the Final today .. Man of the match will be @imjadeja #IPL2021Final,” tweeted Vaughan. The comment section got flooded in no time as fans reacted to Vaughan’s opinion. While CSK fans echoed his sentiments, KKR supporters claimed Vaughan proved to be wrong.

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings, having endured a horrendous campaign last season, scripted a remarkable comeback in IPL 2021. They performed brilliantly as a unit and won one game after another. Although defeats in last three league-stage games seemed to have dented their campaign, a four-wicket triumph against Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 1 took CSK to the summit clash.

Vaughan’s prediction regarding Jadeja also didn’t raise a lot of eyebrows as the all-rounder has been in spectacular form this season. While the left-arm spinner has regularly bowled economical spells, his big-hitting in end overs has helped Chennai in several games. Not to forget, he has been brilliant in the fielding department as well.

Hence, it would be interesting to see Vaughan’s prediction turn out to be true or not. Meanwhile, CSK can’t afford to put a foot wrong as KKR have arguably been the best side in the UAE leg. Moreover, the history is in their favour. The two sides also met in IPL 2012 final as Kolkata walked away with a five-wicket triumph.
