A few days ago, Indian commentator Sanjay Manjrekar called Ravindra Jadeja a ‘bits and pieces player’. His words didn’t go down well with the Saurashtra cricketer and he wasn’t willing to just let it go. The spin-bowling all-rounder hit back at Manjrekar, also a former Indian cricketer. Jadeja reminded him of the number of games of both of them have played in their respective international careers.

He went on to the extent of describing the commentator’s words as ‘verbal diarrhoea’. The fans supported Jadeja and they also ridiculed Manjrekar for his biased commentary on air. Previously, one of the supporters complained to the International Cricket Council (ICC), as he had issues with Manjrekar’s commentary. The Mumbaikar had called Dhoni ‘our watchdog behind the stumps’ and it didn’t please the fan by any means.

Manjrekar picks Ravindra Jadeja for the semis

In the meantime, Michael Vaughan, the former England cricketer, trolled the 53-year-old veteran. Team India has already qualified for the semi-final and Manjrekar also tried to guess the Men in Blue’s line-up for the encounter. Furthermore, he put forth a condition that the track shouldn’t a turner.

The surprising element in his picks was that of Jadeja. He didn’t go for Yuzvendra Chahal, who has been in wicket-taking form in the mega event. Jadeja had a decent day in the match against Sri Lanka at the Headingley in Leeds. The left-arm spinner conceded only 40 runs in his spell of 10 overs and picked up the crucial wicket of Kusal Mendis. He also took a good catch off Kuldeep Yadav and was as usual magnificent on the field.

As far as Manjrekar is concerned, he took to Twitter and wrote, “Trying to predict Indian team for the semis. Let’s see how many I get right. Do send yours too. Will retweet a few. Rohit Rahul Virat Pant Hardik Dhoni Jadeja Bhuvi Shami Kuldeep* Bumrah. *If pitch is not a turner.”

Vaughan didn’t miss out on a chance to troll Manjrekar. The fact that Manjrekar went for Jadeja in the eleven raised his eyebrows to some extent. Vaughan, who is an active participant on social media platforms, replied to his tweet and wrote, “I see you have picked that bits and pieces cricketer !!!”
