Former Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq currently holds two major positions in Pakistan cricket, one as the head coach of the national side and also as the chief selector. Not often we see one person take up these two pivotal positions but the Pakistan Cricket Board sees a potential multi-tasker in Misbah who can handle both departments to great effect.

While Pakistan are yet to appear on the field since the World Cup, the world is eagerly waiting for the ODI series between them and Sri Lanka, which will be the first major ODI series played in Pakistan since the 2009 attacks on the Lankan players. Misbah was talking to the reporters on Wednesday and there was one conversation which hogged a lot of limelight.

One of the reporters asked about the “Tuk Tuk” (Defensive batting) approach from the batsmen and questioned what would he prefer, Hard-hitting or the Tuk Tuk way. Misbah smartly burned down the reporter’s question with a sarcastic comment, suggesting the reporter either doesn’t have a car or he’s keen on angering the coach.

Here’s the video of the hilarious conversation:

Lankan players arrive in Pakistan

The Sri Lankan players arrived in Pakistan on Wednesday ahead of the 3-match ODI series and the 3 T20Is which will begin on Friday (27th September). Although 10 major Sri Lankan players backed out of the tour due to security concerns, the series holds great importance for the fans, cricketers and the boards as it could play a major role in rejuvenating the cricketing spirit in the country.

Lahiru Thirimanne will be leading the Islanders in the ODIs whilst Dasun Shanaka will be taking the same responsibilities in the T20Is. They have given a chance to some young talents with the absence of some regular features and it could be really tough for them to compete toe-to-toe with the exuberant Pakistan side.

Babar Azam will be in focus as his countrymen prepare to witness their young superstar for the first time in a full series. He’s been scoring a lot of runs in recent years and will be desperate to make a mark in this series as well.
