MS Dhoni hasn’t played a competitive game since the World Cup semi-final last year in England. He was supposed to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this year which has now been postponed until further notice due the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. The fans who were excited to see their Mahi back on the field will have to wait even more now even as questions over Dhoni’s international future arise.

Not only the fans but even his teammates are missing his presence in the national side now. Yuzvendra Chahal who has time and again credited his success to the veteran wicketkeeper is now missing MS Dhoni in the lockdown which has been extended in India until May 17.

He took to Twitter to express his feeling of missing the master behind the stumps and interestingly, has also revealed that Dhoni used to call him ’tilli’. Chahal also posted a throwback picture with the 38-year-old and captioned it as, “Miss being called tilli from behind the stumps by the legend..!!

Here’s the tweet:

This is not the first time that Chahal is missing MS Dhoni’s presence on and off the field. Even in his Chahal TV show, the leggie had once mentioned that none of the team members sit on Dhoni’s place in the team bus and it is forever reserved for the man.

Tricky situation for MS Dhoni?

Ever since India lost the semi-final of the World Cup against New Zealand, MS Dhoni hasn’t played international cricket. Though speculations were being made that he might play the T20 World Cup later this year based on his form in the IPL. However, with the IPL looking increasingly unlikely to happen this season, the situation has turned tricky for the former India skipper according to many.

Recently, even MSK Prasad also felt the same as he revealed that the experienced wanted to spend some time away from the game which is why they backed Rishabh Pant. “We had a discussion and mahi didn’t want to play for sometime, so we moved on and then picked up Rishabh Pant and we’ve been backing him.

“Now, that KL also has done extremely well in limited-overs that he played in NZ, so, it would’ve been nice had this IPL held and we would’ve seen Mahi’s old glimpses back but now it’s a tricky situation,” he said in an interview.
