Mitchell Johnson suffers a horrific head injury while training

The former Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson has suffered a horrific head injury while training on Monday. He clashed with the chin-up bar accidentally and sustained a gruesome injury to his head. He is currently gearing up for the upcoming season of Indian Premier League (IPL) after skipping the ongoing edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) due to personal reasons. However, the fast bowler himself has revealed that he is absolutely fine now and is raring to take the field.

Johnson has tormented many batting line-ups during his career and Ashes during 2013-14 season England had faced the brunt of him. He will feature for Kolkata Knight Riders in this season of the Indian T20 League. He was bagged by the franchise for Rs. 2 Crore during the auction in January.

Johnson himself reveals injury

Mitchell Johnson himself revealed the news about his head injury on social media website Instagram. The 36-year-old needed as many as 16 stitches in his scalp after his clash with the bar which left him with a nasty tear on the head. “If you don’t like blood & cuts then don’t look through these pics! Not the best thing I’ve ever done to myself but I’m am fine #toohardtoexplain #dontfightchinupbar #stilldontknowhowitspossible #18.3grrrrr #baldspot,” he captioned his pictures.

Though all looks good now as he himself declared that he is fine and nothing to worry about the injury. He also uploaded the image of himself with a smile and a thumbs up after his treatment went well. He will have to take care of himself now as the injury will take some time to heal completely. However, there should be no threat of him missing the upcoming season of the T20 extravaganza in India. Even he would be itching to hit the straps for his new team this time around under the new captain Dinesh Karthik.
