Twitter has created a platform where fans and celebrities can interact with each other. It has given fans a proper opportunity to know how their favourites stars live their lives. However, it has also created a little tricky place for all the cricketers. If they perform well, Twitter hails them and then at times bashes them for their poor performances.

But, other than this, there are fans who keep asking annoying the players with their questions. New Zealand and Mumbai Indians pacer Mitchell McClenaghan was asked one such question by a fan. However, the 33-year-old pacer gave an epic reply to the fan to shut him down.

On Monday, Auckland Aces’ captain Craig Cachopa decided to announce his retirement from domestic cricket. The New Zealand player has yet featured in international cricket. Left-arm quick Mitchell McClenaghan, who has played with Cachopa for a long time during his domestic career and also been a very close friend of the batsman, decided to post a tweet after getting the news.

In the tweet, he referred Cachopa as one of the best people has ever played the game with. He also expressed the sadness on his retirement and he appreciated his leadership ability. He said that his services would be missed in cricket.

“One of the greatest blokes I’ve had the pleasure to share the park with and call a dear friend. So sad your leaving. Your leadership and ability to bring a team together even in the darkest of times is second to none and will be sorely missed. Cheers to you @CraigCachopa,” McClenaghan tweeted.

After reading this emotional post by the fast bowler, a fan decided to take a mickey out of Mitchell. The fan asked him when was he retiring.

After seeing the tweet, McClenaghan had the most epic response to it. He replied to the person saying that it will happen he would grow his beard properly. “When you can grow a proper moustache,” Mitchell’s savage reply tweet read. The fan seemed a bit young and clearly, the fast-bowler wasn’t going to have anything from him.

The left-arm quick from Auckland has played 48 ODIs, picking up 82 wickets. He has also played 29 T20Is picking up 30 scalps in them. Mitchell McClenaghan hasn’t played for New Zealand since 2018. Nevertheless, the pacer has been playing in various franchises for the past few years. In IPL, he represents Mumbai Indians since 2015 and he has been with the squad for each of the seasons. In 56 IPL matches, he has 71 wickets.
