The entire nation mourned as one of India’s iconic actors, Sridevi suffered an unfortunate demise.  The sudden news of Sridevi’s death on Saturday sent shockwaves throughout the country. The actor, aged 54, reportedly died due to a sudden cardiac arrest while in Dubai. Husband Boney Kapoor and daughter Khushi were also with the actress in Dubai for nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding.

Sridevi, whose sudden death last Saturday shattered fans and colleagues, begun her final journey today dressed as a bride and wrapped in the national flag. Apart from the silver screen family, Indian sportspersons too poured in condolences for the family. The most recent being India women’s skipper Mithali Raj.

The 35-year-old shaken by the news took to her Twitter handle and posted, “It’s now 4 days since we heard about this absolutely tragic loss. Time they say, heals all wounds. I think time just makes you accustomed to how things are & will be. Adieu #Sridevi – it’s been emotional. Strength to the girls, family, @BoneyKapoor ji & everyone who is grieving.”

Arguably one of the greatest personalities in the film industry the entire world was mesmerized by Sridevi’s beauty. Ever since her debut in the industry, Sridevi has gone on to become one of the most sought-after figures in the Indian film industry. She has given many iconic films in her stellar career as an actor and was even awarded the prestigious Padma Shri, India’s fourth highest civilian award for her contributions in the field of cinema.

Sridevi is loved and admired all throughout the nation for her roles in iconic movies like “Sadma”, “Lamhe” “Mr. India”, “Chandni” and “Himmatwala”.  Apart from Bollywood, the Tamil Nadu-born heroine has also plied her trade in Telegu, Malayalam and Kannada films.

Sridevi was last seen on the silver screen in the revenge-drama feature“Mom” opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna. She also played a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film “Zero” which is scheduled to release later this year, in December.
