Young Pakistan quick Mohammad Hasnain, who was currently up in the ongoing PSL, has found himself under serious trouble. In the latest turn of events, Hasnain’s bowling action has been found to be illegal after he underwent tests over his action last month at the Lahore University of Management Sciences. In the same ICC-approved biomechanics lab, most of his deliveries were found to exceed the tolerance limit set for bowlers legally i.e. 15-degree.

It has to be noted that Hasnain was first pointed out on his action while playing BBL last month for the Sydney Thunder. He could have been tested in Australia as well but his travel plans postponed the testing to take place in Lahore. Talking of his participation in PSL, he played the first three games for Gladiators before being rested against Islamabad.

The 21-year-old has been a vital part of Pakistan’s white-ball set-up and already has a T20 hat-trick to his name. After the reports on his illegal bowling action, PCB have pulled their socks up and have put out a statement on how a bowling consultant will now work with the pacer to make his action fine. PCB also added that Hasnain will remain suspended from international cricket until he clears his reassessment.

The PCB will now appoint a bowling consultant to work with Mohammad Hasnain, read PCB’s statement

“The PCB today received a formal and detailed report from Cricket Australia on Mohammad Hasnain’s assessment test, which stated his elbow extension for his good length delivery, full-length delivery, slow bouncer and bouncer exceeded the 15-degree limits,” said PCB in a statement.

“The PCB has discussed the report with its own bowling experts and is confident that the problem can be resolved. The PCB will now appoint a bowling consultant who will work with Mohammad Hasnain so that he can rectify his bowling action and be ready for a reassessment.”

“As per the Illegal Bowling Action Regulations, until Mohammad Hasnain clears his reassessment, he will remain suspended from bowling in international cricket,” the statement added.
