A few days ago, Irfan Pathan became the hot topic of discussion for the cricket loyalists on social media. That is because he uploaded a picture with his wife, where her wife had her face half-covered with her hands. In addition to it, she had nail polish applied on her nails. For this, Pathan was bashed by some people belonging to his religion. They called Pathan ‘un-Islamic’ as according to them, applying nail polish is forbidden in their religion.

The next turn was reserved for Indian speedster Mohammed Shami. Shami celebrated his daughter’s birthday and that was the reason why he was in the receiving end of social media backlash. Some people belonging to his religion said that celebrating birthdays is considered as ‘haraam’ in their religion. The next person in the queue waiting to receive the backlash was former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif.

Kaif uploaded a picture on Facebook where he was seen playing chess with his son. Immediately, the picture grabbed the attention of many and ignited religious sentiments. Many objected him playing chess. In their defense, they cited that according to their religious rules and obligations, playing chess is ‘haraam’. The social media soon divided into two- one group was against the picture while the other group had no issues as such with it.

Kaif comes up with a suitable reply

After seeing the drama and action unfold in the comments section of his Facebook page’s wall, the 36-year old has finally come up with a suitable reply. The man who scored more than 3,000 runs for the nation took to Twitter and said, “What ? Thekeedar ji se poochiye, is breathing haraam or not. Kamaal hai yaar.” If translated to English, his tweet means “What? Ask the contractor if breathing is forbidden or not. Great.” Many fans have supported Kaif’s tweet.
