Mohammed Shami's family members treated in a disgraceful manner

Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami is currently leading the bowling attack of the Indian team in the intense Test series battle in the African contingent. He recently picked up his 100th wicket in the longest format and has been bowling really well to be the real match-winner for his side. Amidst all this great period, his family members who stays in Kolkata were treated in a very disappointing and degrading manner at the ‘Khel Samman’ awards ceremony, which was conducted by the West Bengal State at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata.

The whole story of disgracement

There was an invite sent to Shami by the organizers of the event as they wanted to honour the cricketer with the prestigious ‘Khel Samman’ award on January 24. But as the Bengal fast bowler is currently in South Africa with the national team performing his duty, he was not available for the event. Therefore, his other family members including his wife Hasin Jahan attended the ceremony on behalf of the sportsman. There were graciously requested to mark their presence at the settings by 12 noon.

As per some reports by xtratime.in, during the award function Shami’s family faced an embarrassing situation after they were not even invited to the stage to collect the award. They were left reeling in an opprobrious position for which they also couldn’t officially complain or take the matters upstairs. It was quite an upsetting and sad moment for the family of a cricketer like Shami, who has always enriched the pride of his State and the country as a whole at the grandest stage of all. And his family surely should not be facing these disgraceful moments, as done by the West Bengal State government.

Several humiliations on the social media

This is not the first time Shami is involved in these type of humiliating moments, he also became the victim along with his wife several times before after he posted images on the social media with her. People followed the post with some nasty comments on some social media platforms, which were highly unlikely towards any personality.
