Sakshi Dhoni turned 29 today and husband MS Dhoni along with friends and a few Indian cricketers celebrated the occasion in Mumbai. There are several videos floating on social media posted by Dhoni and Sakshi’s fans. One can see her cutting the cake with another individual who probably shares his birthday. There’s Dhoni standing next to them and most people had their phones out recording the moment.
Among cricketers, there was Hardik Pandya, who is not a part of the Indian team for the tour of Australia. The all-rounder is injured and has been working on the rehabilitation. Then there was another Mumbai lad Shardul Thakur who also plays for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League.
Singer Rahul Vaidya of the Indian Idol fame also took a video asking everyone present to wish Sakshi. He first did a bit with the birthday girl herself. Then went to Arun Pandey, one of Dhoni’s close friends and his manager. He also asked MS to wish, he did and when Vaidya asked him to sing for the wife, Dhoni said that was not his cup of tea.
Here is the video from the celebration:
Pandya who bonds really well with the senior pro in the team Dhoni clicked a lovely picture and put it up on social media. His caption was “forever love @msdhoni”

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been off the field for a while now, he last featured in the ODI series against Windies. Since the 37-year-old wouldn’t play the World T20 next year, the selectors decided to give youngsters a chance in the shortest format of the game. Dhoni was not picked in the T20I squad for the Windies series as well as Australia tour. He will join the Men in Blue for the three-match ODI series and a lot of eyes will be on Dhoni to see how he takes on that challenge.
