The tenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been a perfect mix of performances with the bat and the ball. With batters struggling to score big in this season’s Indian Premier League the bowlers have enjoyed a lot of success on the field. As far as the fielding is concerned the quality has not lived up to the expectations as the action has seen 40 catches dropped in the first 19 matches.

But along with the action on the field which has been much more than entertaining, the action off the field has been quite hot too. All the social media platforms have been taken by storm specifically Twitter which has seen tweets coming in from all over the world regarding the cash-reach league the number being over 2.6 million.

There has been a lot done to celebrate the 10th edition of the league as twitter launched emojis of Indian and foreign players – 30 of the Indian Premier League’s biggest superstars. Two Indians are heading the list as far as the race is concerned. And not so surprisingly it is MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli at the top. The two players are close followed by Mr. 360 who did miss the first two matches of his franchise due to a back problem.

The top 10 most used hashtags for player emojis are of (in order): Dhoni (#msdhoni), Kohli (#viratkohli), AB de Villiers (#abdevilliers), Gautam Gambhir (#gambhir), Yuvraj Singh (#yuvi), Rohit Sharma (#rohitsharma), Steve Smith (#smithy), Suresh Raina (#sureshraina), David Warner (#davidwarner) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (#bhuvi).

Speaking about the knocks that grabbed the most attention on the social media platform, AB de Villiers scintillating comeback against the Kings XI Punjab tops the list. Other events which created the most conversations are Sanju Samson’s emphatic century which was the first of the season, Mumbai’s batting collapse against the RCB, Mumbai coming back to beat RCB in stunning fashion and Dhoni’s huge six that landed on the roof of the Chinnaswamy stadium.
