MS Dhoni is an encyclopedia of cricket: Siddarth Kaul

Team India has been jolted with injuries to their key players in the ongoing Asia Cup which has paved the way for Siddarth Kaul’s return to the squad. He bowled in the nets ahead of the tournament to the Indian batsmen and was one of the standbys it seems as he was straight away picked after an injury to Shardul Thakur. He has played in England a couple of months ago and is looking forward once again now to contribute to the team’s cause.

Kaul, however, has been thankful to the veteran MS Dhoni for helping him out in the nets. He believed that the legend’s suggestions have been helpful to him in becoming a better bowler. Though it will be interesting to see if he will be included in any of the upcoming Asia Cup matches of the team.

“I have modelled my bowling on Bhuvneshwar. It was great to have him, Dhoni and Rohit (Sharma) during nets. Those jittery times got over in England itself and I was really keen on learning about the conditions in Dubai. Dhoni is an encyclopedia of cricket. I was just following his instructions and applying them in the nets,” Kaul was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

Conditions in Dubai tough

Siddarth Kaul was also of the opinion that for a fast bowler, the conditions are very tough in Dubai and they will have to stay hydrated to bowl well throughout the tournament. “One has to stay hydrated in the hot conditions in order to bowl to the best of ability. I hope to make use of that small stint in the nets during the upcoming matches,” Kaul added.

India will be playing against Bangladesh in the first match of the Super Four at the Dubai International Stadium while Pakistan and Afghanistan will face-off in Abu Dhabi.
