For MS Dhoni, cricket is like a part-time assignment now but he enjoys it to the hilt whenever he is around. The former India captain is currently in Australia for the ODI series which kicks off on Saturday and will be around for a while now since India will be playing limited-overs cricket mostly till the World Cup which will also be the ace gloveman’s last.
The 37-year-old cricketer might be struggling with the bat at the moment but he has done tremendously well behind the wickets and the fans are yet in no mood to bid him goodbye. The same was confirmed at the Sydney Cricket Ground where the first ODI will be played. The fans were ecstatic to see Dhoni who just joined the Indian squad for the first time since he was dropped for the T20I series.
The ace cricketer sweated it out in the nets along with his teammates and the fans thronged the venue to get a glimpse of the former World Cup-winning captain. Dhoni also obliged the fans by meeting them and distributing autographs and the video of the same was shared by the BCCI on social media.

The Indian cricketers were seen sharing light moods after their practice sessions at the iconic venue where the fourth Test was also played. India won the four-Test series 2-1 to register history as it was their maiden series win Down Under in the longer format since Independence.
Dhoni was the captain the last time India played limited-overs series in Australia
India though are yet to beat Australia in a bilateral ODI series in their den. In the only bilateral ODI series which the Men in Blue have played in Australia so far, they were beaten 1-4 and Dhoni was the captain in that series. However, it was on the same tour in 2015-16 that Dhoni led India to whitewash the Aussies 3-0 in a T20I series, achieving another historic first.
India, however, had bad news ahead of the first ODI as KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya were suspended pending an inquiry owing to the controversy on a popular television show.
