The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the cricketing powerhouse when compared to the other Test playing nations. But their latest goof-up will leave many people in splits as MS Dhoni is still the Indian captain on their official website bcci.tv. The veteran has stepped down from the position in 2017 itself and Virat Kohli is leading the Men in Blue across all the formats since.

MS Dhoni’s profile on the website still sees him as the leader of the pack while Kohli’s profile is updated. Given the stature of the cricket board, the profile of the player had to be updated by now almost two years have passed since Dhoni has resigned.

The best captain ever

There is no doubt over MS Dhoni’s credentials as captain considering what he has achieved while being at the helm. He is the only leader in the history of cricket to win World T20, 50 overs World Cup and Champions Trophy. Dhoni was also leading the team when India became number 1 in Test cricket in 2009 for the first time ever.

Also, the Men in Blue won their first tri-series in Australia under his captaincy and they also whitewashed the same team down under in the three-match T20I series back in 2016.

Kohli’s journey

The current skipper Kohli is also on his way towards becoming the best and has led admirably well albeit under the watchful eyes of Dhoni. However, Team India has maintained their top position in whites for a long time and would be looking to fare well in the upcoming five-match series in England which will commence on August 1.

He will be leading India in the 2019 World Cup in England and is tipped to win the tournament as well. It will interesting to see if will enter into the elite list of Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni who have won the mega event before.
