MS Dhoni: The Untold Story collects Rs 88.63 crores

MS Dhoni: The Untold Story has now entered its sixth day and is showing no signs of stopping at all. According to trade expert Taran Adarsh, the movie has minted Rs 88.63 crore as of Thursday. The movie is on the verge of entering the 100 crore club in the India box office.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#MSDhoniTheUntoldStory Fri 21.3 cr, Sat 20.6 cr, Sun 24.1 cr, Mon 8.51 cr, Tue 7.52 cr, Wed 6.6 cr. Total: ₹ 88.63 cr [Hindi+Tamil+Telugu].”

The movie collected Rs 8.51 crore and Rs 7.52 crore on Monday and Tuesday respectively, while its Wednesday collection was of Rs 6.6 crore. MS Dhoni: The Untold Story which enjoyed monopoly this week will most likely have to face competition from Mirzya and Tutak Tutak Tutiya which releases this Friday.

The movie, which takes the fans through the journey of a man who touched great heights of success coming from a modest background, has collected overseas earnings of over Rs 20 crore in the first weekend and therefore if overall collections of the movie are looked upon, then it has already breached past the Rs 100 crore gross worldwide collections in its first three days. The film on Dhoni’s life has received a positive response from critics and the strong word-of-mouth has been doing wonders.

Sushant Singh Rajput, the lead in MS Dhoni, also received good reviews from the critics. Recently, Rishi Kapoor and Suriya praised the actor for his wonderful performance. Lead actress, Kiara Advani, who played the role of Sakshi Dhoni also was raised for his the portrayal of the character. In fact, the real Mrs. Dhoni herself has gone on to appreciated her performance. Sakshi was so impressed with Kiara that she immediately called her up and praised her for her performance.
