It was an absolute Chennai Superkings frenzy at Chepauk today as Matthew Hayden’s team took on MS Dhoni‘s team in six hitting contest, as the entire arena turned yellow to welcome the two Superkings. Chennai has been devoid of any IPL action after Chennai Superkings were banned from taking part in the league back in 2015

It had been ages since Chepauk saw its quintessential leader smack a few into the top tier of MA Chidambaram Stadium. The last piece of CSK action Chepauk witnessed was back on 10 May 2015. The six hitting competition also saw former CSK players Subramaniam Badrinath and Lakshmipathy Balaji back in action. Dhoni side faced defeat at the hands of Matthey Hayden side by 5-4.

“Yellow is very special,” claimed MS Dhoni before the match between Dindigul Dragons and reigning champions Albert TuTi Patriots “The crowd have been fantastic, they have given me unconditional love and affection and I always say it is my second home” quoted MS Dhoni according to the interview prior to the start of the match. “I played a lot of cricket here. I played for India after playing here. It’s very special for me. One of the finest memories I have here is that of a superb hit from Albie Morkel”

“I played a lot of cricket here. I played for India after playing here. It’s very special for me. One of the finest memories I have here is that of a superb hit from Albie Morkel” said Mohit Sharma who was representing team Dhoni. “It feels great to be back her. It’s been a good wait for this crowd. The yellow jersey is back now. These fans deserve this. This is the right time for them as Dhoni and Haydos are here.” recollected former Superking Lakshmipathy Balaji. “It can’t be better. I was with CSK for six years and there are a lot of sweet memories. I’m happy CSK is back and roaring. The atmosphere here today is great.” commented Badrinath who recently retired from First Class Cricket.
