MSK Prasad declares the identification of 15 bowlers for the future

MSK Prasad, the senior National selection committee chairman declared on Wednesday that 15 medium pacers have been identified for the future and the exposure tours which are scheduled to benefit them are to begin with the India ‘A’ fixtures in the coming months.

The future of Indian bowling surely looks bright with these fifteen talented young bowlers identified. According to MSK Prasad, all the bowlers are bowling at a pace of 140 km/h and are expected to give a tough fight to the existing bunch of Indian bowlers for a spot in the team.

At the inauguration of a sports boutique, MSK Prasad quoted the Sportstar “All are clocking 140 plus and have the wherewithal to shine as frontline bowlers. This lot will give a serious fight to the existing bunch”

Prasad also put emphasis on the fact that after the successful season at home, the Indian team now should look at winning test matches abroad. Prasad hopes that India would be able to extract results out of the test matches they are going to play against South Africa, Australia and England after the completion of the Champions Trophy.

“After Champions Trophy in June, we will be playing a three-Test series in South Africa, Australia and England. Along with the existing bunch, this new crop of bowlers will be in the contention.”

“We will be playing Sri Lanka in a three-Test series in August, but since it would be played in conditions that are similar to India, the emphasis will be more on temperament and attitude”

The 41-year-old believes that the exposure trips and playing in conditions, ambience and climates completely unknown to them will help this new bunch of bowlers develop into quality performers. He was all praise for Dinesh Karthik and Shikhar Dhawan for their tremendous performance in the Deodhar Trophy. Prasad also announced that the team for the Champions trophy would be picked later this month.
