After all the excitement surrounding the inaugural edition of the Mzansi Super League (MSL), it’s time for the final, which is scheduled to be played tomorrow between Cape Town Blitz and Jozi Stars at Newlands in Cape Town. The former has effortlessly been the standout team in the T20 event as they finished atop the points table with 30 points from 10 matches.
The Stars, on the other hand, had to strain a wee bit. However, they managed to qualify for the Eliminator against Paarl Rocks after finishing on the second spot. Nevertheless, the match was abandoned due to persistent rain and the Stars made the final on account of finishing higher than the Rocks in the points table. The final is expected to be an absolute thriller.
The track has offered something for both bowlers and the batsmen. Another cracker of a pitch can be speculated for the all-important encounter. But bearing in mind the significance of the contest, teams would want to put runs on the board and then exert pressure on the opposition batting. Hence it won’t spring a surprise if the teams opt to bat first after winning the toss.
