'Mujhe unki beizzati karni thi' - Mohammad Kaif reveals how he humiliated Shoaib Akhtar, forced him to pull out of his run-up

Former Indian cricketers Virender Sehwag and Mohammad Kaif were seen recently on Sony Entertainment’s famous comedy program, The Kapil Sharma Show. During their interaction with the show host and popular comedian Kapil Sharma, Kaif and Sehwag shared various interesting anecdotes involving India and Pakistan.

During their interaction, Kapil recalled an incident when Kaif took on Shoaib Akhtar, playing the deadly pacer by charging down a few steps against him, which forced him to even stop during his run up. “Thodi mujhe unki beizzati karni thi (I wanted to humiliate him a little),” Kaif explained.

“Kyunki woh naamcheen gendbaaz, unka run-up itna lamba. Sehwag ne toh bohot chakke maare, hume mauka kum mila khelne ka. Woh jab aaye, main bhi walk kar gaya. Bowling unhone kari nahi, rok di (He is a famous bowler with such a long run-up. Sehwag got a chance to hit a lot of sixes but I did not get a chance to bat as much, as I was lower in the batting order. So, when Akhtar came towards me, I walked too. He did not end up bowling that ball to me),” he added.

“Main aage jaaunga, yeh banda ruk jayega, bowling karega nahi. Wohi mera plan tha, kaamyaab hua, ki inki zara beizzati karta hoon Pakistan mein jaake (I thought I would go a few steps ahead, he won’t bowl to me. That was my plan, to go to Pakistan and humiliate him, and it succeeded),” Kaif told.

In the show’s promo, Kaif was also seen having a bit of banter with Kapil Sharma when he was asked why did he feature on the show earlier. “You didn’t know the way to the show or did no one tell you that you’re so popular that you can appear on the show?” Kapil asked, to which Kaif responded: “I’ve known Kapil even before his show became a hit. After the show became popular, we met and interacted but he never invited me to the show.”

Kaif’s comments left everyone in splits including Kapil, while Virender Sehwag warned the latter saying: “Galat aadmi se panga le liya tune (You have messed with the wrong person).”
