IPL franchise Mumbai Indians are not having a pleasant outing this season after the Rohit Sharma led squad could only garner one win in the six games they have played so far. In the ongoing edition, Mumbai, who came in as the defending champions and so far have looked out of touch Mumbai’s inability to convert close situations in their favour has cost them heavily and will need to do away with it if they fancy a comeback.

While the team as a unit has failed, their skipper Rohit Sharma has also failed to be amongst the runs. At times a captain’s fault is easily ignored if the team has been doing good overall. From the above-mentioned scenario, none is applicable to Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma.

Barring a 94 against Royal Challengers Bangalore in a winning effort, Rohit Sharma hasn’t crossed the 20-run mark. He made 15 runs against Chennai Super Kings in the opening encounter, 11 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, 18 against Delhi Daredevils, zero against Rajasthan Royals and only posted 2 from 6 balls against SRH yesterday in a low scoring chase.

And last night’s loss pushed the MI fans to the threshold as they lashed out for the team’s poor show. They also came out on Twitter to brutally troll the Mumbai batsman.

You can see some of the reactions below

Match Details

Bowling first, Mumbai bundled SRH for a measly total of 118 in 18.4 overs, courtesy some impeccable bowling display. With a trivial total to chase, MI looked confident of a win.

However, an equally destructive show by the Hyderabad bowlers took the game away from the defending champions, as they lost the low scoring thriller by 31 runs. Apart from Suryakumar Yadav (34) and Krunal Pandya (24), no Mumbai batsman could muster a double-digit score in their run chase. Poor shot selections coupled with some good bowling display by SRH saw Mumbai succumb to their fifth loss of the season.
