Mushfiqur Rahim got a taste of his own medicine in the 30th match of the BPL 2019 between the Vikings and the Riders. Playing at their home ground, his team suffered a massive 72-run loss bringing the five-match winning streak to an end. The Rangpur Riders, with twin centuries from Alex Hales and Rilee Rossouw, put up a massive total of 239 runs on the board.

The wicketkeeper-batsman walked in at the fall of Sikandar Raza‘s wicket during this humungous chase. With the kind of form that he is in, Mushfiqur Rahim got going straight away. In the first ten balls of his innings, he smashed three sixes and was looking dangerous. After he scored 22 off 10 balls, he fell victim to Nazmul Islam on the 11th ball of his innings.

A frustrated stare towards the bowler

Rahim usually indulges in the Naagin dance with Nazmul Islam and celebrates hard when the duo plays together for Bangladesh. But, when he was at the receiving end, Mushfiqur didn’t seem to like the celebration even one bit. As he attempted to sweep a delivery from Islam on the last ball of the seventh over, he ended up missing it.

The ball struck him on the pads right in front and it looked plumb to the naked eye. The on-field umpire also felt the same and immediately raised his finger. But, Mushfiqur Rahim decided to go for the DRS after consultation with his partner at the other end. The technology spotted no inside edge and the impact was in line.

But, the ball drifted down the leg side and was just about clipping the leg-stump. Hence, it was an umpire call and the on-field decision stood as it if. Nazmul was unstoppable and immediately celebrated with the signature naagin dance. Mushfiqur Rahim had a frustrated look at the bowler as he was dancing.
