The Mysuru Warriors after having retained skipper Manish Pandey, left-arm spinner Jagdish Suchith and off-spinner Krishnappa Gowtham went into the auction looking to add the perfect blend of players that could help the team regain the Karnataka Premier League (KPL) title they lost last season.
Having retained 3 Pool A players Mysuru had enough in their purse to go for the big bids and they did manage to go about it efficiently. They spent a total of Rs. 16,90,000 while they had a total purse of Rs. 20,00,000 returning back with surplus fund of Rs. 3,10,000 after the signing of 15 players.
They got into a bidding war for the players who were on their radar and more often than not succeeded in signing them. The team owned by Cycle Pure Agarbathies bought the joint most expensive players in the auction right-hand batsman Rongsen Jonathan for Rs. 3,50,000. Jonathan plays for Railways in the domestic tournament and was a part of the Mangalore United team in the previous edition of the KPL.
Vyshak Vijay Kumar was the other player who they picked up with one of the highest bids of the auction. He was signed for Rs. 3,20,000. Vyshak was one of the better performers for Mysuru last season as he picked up 10 wickets with his medium pace in 7 matches.

The third player who earned a good sum in the KPL 2016 auction from the Warriors was Liyan Khan. Khan, the 24-year off-spinner interested more than a couple of teams but with a bid of 1,60,000 MW had done enough to ensure he plays for them in the upcoming season.
Apart from the biggies the Mysuru Warriors also bought a list of players at their base price of Rs. 10,000 – Arjun Hoysala, Kushal Wadhwani, Anand Doddamani, Aditya Sagar, Prateeksh R, Nihal Ullal, Nikith S Sanganakal, Koushik V, Akshay Kodath and Abhishek Bhat. Rajoo Bhatkal was signed up for Rs. 20,000.
