Nagpur Police use Varun Chakravarthy's hilarious picture to spread awareness about OTP fraud

Dinesh Karthik-led Kolkata Knight Riders suffered a thumping 18-run defeat against Delhi Capitals on Saturday. With the venue being Sharjah, it was anticipated to be a run-scoring fest. Both teams were eying their third victory of the tournament but it Shreyas Iyer’s men were ultimately the winners of the encounter.

In an absolute riot of boundaries, both teams crossed the 200-run mark. While batting first, DC’s young brigade– steered by their skipper’s scintillating knock– enthraled their fans by hitting boundaries for fun. Iyer slammed 38-ball 88 to put DC into the driver’s seat. During the first innings, the KKR bowlers including Varun Chakravarthy were demolished at Sharjah. It was a bad day at the office for the leg-break bowler as he leaked 49 runs in his four overs while scalping a wicket. In the 12th over bowled by Chakravarthy, his hilarious facial expressions on the field led to him becoming a meme on social media.

Twitter was filled with Chakravarthy’s amused picture and many people added funny captions to go with his expression. Nagpur City Police, known for their quirky tweets, also used the spinner’s picture on Twitter to share awareness about OTP fraud.

“When you have shared an OTP with a so-called “Bank Employee speaking from the Head Office,” wrote Nagpur City Police along with sharing Chakravarthy’s hilarious photo. “No matter who calls you, never give away your confidential information such as OTP, CVV etc,” they added.

Varun Chakravarthy was snapped up by the Kolkata franchise for a whopping INR 4 crore in the IPL 2020 auction. A product of Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL), Chakravarthy had helped Siachem Madurai Panthers win the title back in 2018.

Chakravarthy, who played just one game for KXIP last season after being picked for INR 8.4 crore, was acquired by KKR this time around. In three matches so far, the mystery spinner has plucked 4 wickets at an economy of over 8.
