Preview:

The Northern Areas team bounced back with a huge win over Sindh team after they were on the receiving end of a record run-chase against Central Punjab. The Northern team finished with 191/7 in their 20 overs with Sohail Akhtar scoring a 36-ball 63. They came up with a much better bowling performance as the Sindh team were bundled out for only 125 with no batsman crossing 30.

The 66-run win has put the Northern Areas team on 2nd position in the points table. They will now face Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who started the tournament with a comfortable win in the tournament opener but suffered big losses since then. In their recent most game against Sindh, the Khyber team made a mess of the 177-run chase and fell nine runs short despite losing only six wickets.

Weather Condition/Report:

The weather forecast suggested no rain for Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium on Friday. However, there could be cloud covering during the day without any interruption to the play.

Pitch Condition/Report:

Chasing big totals is not that easy in the night matches. The same was proved on Thursday where the Sindh team fell way short of Northern Areas’ total of 191. Targets around 160 will be slightly easy to chase. Hence the teams winning the toss prefer to bat first and put up 180+ like Northern against Sindh.

Average first innings score: 176 (Last 10 night T20 games)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 4, Lost – 6
