Waqar Younis, the former Pakistan fast bowler, was a disgusted lot recently. His official Twitter account got hacked and Waqar pledged not to use social media again. The veteran said that he used to think social media as a medium for staying in touch with the fans. However, after the last occurring, he seemed to have lost all faith from the public domains.
Younis said that he has had to face such issues plenty of times and he sounded a tad tired, dealing with the incidents. As per the legendary seamer, he would be abandoning social media as he feels that the hacker won’t be stopping his misdeeds anytime in the future.
“Today I have to say with great regret that when I woke up this morning, someone hacked my Twitter account and liked grossly inferior videos from my account. So, it is a matter of great shame, it is a matter of great regret and discomfort. For me and my family too.
I used to think that social media or Twitter is a way of interacting with people. But unfortunately, this man ruined everything. By the way, the hacker has not done this for the first time,” Younis told on his social media handle.
“I have had an account hack three or four times. I do not think this man is going to stop, so I have decided that I will not come on social media after today. I love my family more,” he added.
Waqar is not the first cricketer who got the Twitter accounts hacked. The likes of Darren Lehmann and Mithali Raj also had to face to wrath of the wrongdoers. Thereafter, they had to make their fans aware, releasing a statement.
