Former Indian cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi recently expressed his emotions about the way Indian captain Virat Kohli has evolved over the years. Kohli is known to carry his heart on his sleeve and is regarded as one of the most aggressive cricketers in the world cricket at the moment. As per the recent quotes in IBTimes, Bedi remarked that Kohli’s intensity in unmatched in Indian cricket.

Bishan Singh Bedi was very firm in addressing the topic. He went on to quote that he has never seen any other Indian cricketer showing the same intensity on the field. However, he did not approve of all the gestures that Kohli comes up with during a game. Moreover, Bedi feels that these emotions will mellow down as the time progresses.

“Kohli’s intensity during a game which he displays — I have not seen that in any other Indian. But I don’t agree with some of the gestures he does on the field. But with time, he will mellow down. But how much I have learnt watching Virat is unreal,” quoted Bishan Singh Bedi.

Rahul Dravid’s opinion on the topic

Meanwhile, former Indian captain Rahul Dravid opined that the way Virat goes about his game is definitely a lot more aggressive than many others, and can get cringe-worthy at times. However, he went on to quote that if that sort of aggressiveness helps him get the best out of himself, then he should continue doing the same. He feels it is unfair to blame someone for their nature.

“Sometimes, especially before an Australia series, you’ll find Virat saying the most outrageous things. And I read the paper and cringe at times. But then I think back, maybe he actually wants that contest. He wants that lip on the field because that gets the best out of him. Now that might not be everyone’s cup of tea. But at the end of the day, he’s got to do what gets the best out of him,” Rahul Dravid quoted.

“If engaging in a contest, sometimes needling the opposition, is getting the best out of Virat – and it certainly is because his level of performance is second to none in the world today – then so be it. You can’t blame him for it,” he added.
